The Forever Skies - Peter Davies

The Forever Skies.

Endless morning, of pale blinking blue
Washing as a wave, across us forever,
White horses break majestically, in morning light
Silent, as the still watching moon,
And a time standing, second moment
Before the promise, of the following ice kissed weather.

Skin free, as the forgotten breeze
Gently touching, as a night spoken love,
Distant trees, there dressed in autumn
Golden, as the turning tides of heaven,
And an ocean tear, shed for hope
As a name for tomorrow,
is written above.
A last song bird, lonely with fading flight
Circling always circling, as long shadows fall,
Somewhere life is crying, denying
Bleeding away, with all the colours of the world,
And in the that sunlight, missing second
One perfect flower opens, for the heart of us all.
Into the shushing sky, of cold calming breath
A prayer to the Angel, of loss and pain,
There to run past the crumbling ruins
Painted memories, of long dried regret,
And to find a soul tied, dream of sleep
After circling under the forever skies and finding you there again.
