Dr. Sonia’s Fountain of Inspirations - The Richest Tapestry of Life by Bhaskaranand Jha Bhaskar

Fountain of Inspirations (A Collection of Poems)
Poet: Dr Sonia Gupta,
Rs.: 300/-, Year: 2016
Publisher: The Poetry Society of India, Gurgaon

Life is not a bed of roses; it has been full of ups and downs and trials and tribulations since time immemorial. However, man has always been successful in tiding over all ebbs and tides , thanks to his inner succor, firm determination, inspirations from nature and motivations from the experienced teachers, guides and philosophers whose words of  perennial significance always do wonders. The beauty and significance of fountain of inspirations contained since ages in some form or the other lies in their proper and unfailing compliance, with propensity, by one and all. As a matter of fact, inspirations and motivations help us deal with harsh realities of the world, and make us enjoy the beauty of life and the truth while fulfilling all the dreams and aspirations. Optimistic zeal and fervor keeps us afloat against all the temporal tides of time during the voyage of life.

In the present collection of poems Fountain of Inspirations, Dr Sonia Gupta presents vivid facets of life, covering wide range of emotions and feelings , inspirations and motivations, the juxtaposition between light and dark, success and failure, hope and despair, boon and bane, pain and pleasure, smile and tears, mind and heart, dreams and imagination, mood swings and firm determination. In her poetry she deftly deals with most of the universal themes in simple, plain and apt language, with concreteness of imagery and evocative diction suited to the expression. Fusion of thoughts and feelings is simply superb and awesome. Even the formal qualities of poems are in tune with the poetic mood. They are immensely, joyous, reflective, inspirational and motivational for the people astray in the mad alley of the today’s materialistic world. With uniqueness of writing style, her utterance is mostly metaphorical.

Her "Beauty" makes us search for the real beauty of divine, overlooking the transient beauty of the body or nature, while in ‘Why do you always curse yourself?” she inspires us to forget the ordeals of the past, shun the negative thoughts that distress us and enjoy the present moments of life with self-confidence as ‘Nobody here in this world is always full of perfections’.

Her “Welcome” is a pearl of wisdom as it contains elemental lines of motivation such as
Those, who can sail the boat,
even among stormy waves,
shores welcome them!
Happiness and joy is all that matters in life. Beauty of life lies in our smiles. Her “Smile” brings joyous expression on the face of the sad and the dejected. She smilingly remarks-‘This smile is such a boon to someone/that it can be a reason to live for anyone!’ The poem"Hope' provides optimistic succor to the despair.  In “Peace" she sings of the serenity, tranquility, calm and composure- being different aspects of peace oft-sought in the world.  She believes in the uncertainty principle of life that dances to the tune of almighty time. Life is uncertain. Anything can happen at any time. Hence we must make the most and best use of the moments we have.

In her poem “Time”, she rightly seconds- ‘Uncertainty is there in its every second/nobody knows what will happen’. The world is abuzz with cacophonous sounds and human noises. Everything is in helter -skelter. There is no time to turn inward and find the answers to the eternal question of life. She makes us hear the symphony of her “Silence”-
It is not essential to speak always
Being silent also expresses many things
Silence itself speaks a lot through its own words
For most of the questions, silence itself is an answer!!!
On the other hand, the poem “Failure” unfailingly guides us to succeed in the turbulent times of life.

She also seems to be under the impression of Meera Bai's devotional love. She also speaks about fears, tears and failures in the battles of life. She perceives the world through her eyes, mind and expresses through heart despite all odds with aplomb.

Further, to beat down the twinge of falsehood and lies, she narrates ‘Story of Truth” with her philosophical elegance. She regards “Pain” as a guiding and disciplining impulse. She avers- this pain has made/me determined,/more understanding!......This pain has purified/my heart and soul”.

Her “Prayer’ is an invocation to God to lead her on the right on the right path of the truth and virtues. Hence, she pleads to God to
Give me those eyes, which could find
you in everyone in this world!
Give me those ears, which could listen
you in every voice of this world!
To her “Tears” is ‘treasures of life’, ‘pearl of an ornament’. Moving on, in her invocative poem "Illuminate the Spark" she exhorts us to rekindle the spark of divinity in us as
As the reality is felt inside
the most peaceful place
in this world is innermost silence!
if one wants to understand the real meaning and motto of life.  In some of the poems, her love of nature finds fantastic articulation.

In “Mother Nature” presents a colorful account of vivid beauty of nature. At the same time, she also expresses her concern on the gradual defilement of nature due to rampant activities of deforestation. Through her poem she appeals to us-
Let us pledge today all of us together
We all shall take steps to protect our nature!
This nature, this surrounding, is a blessing to us
Let us not harm it in any ways!
Let us plant a sapling of greenery everywhere
Let us protect our environment and atmosphere!!!
Her poems are encouraging and optimistic, though pessimistic sometimes. Mood swings have resulted into manifestation of variegated feelings and emotions. She looks down upon the accusatory attitude of the people and hence she talks about raising the level of self determination. She invokes the divine power to illuminate her inner vision to see and follow the absolute light. She prays for peace in the world, in society and in mind. In short, her poems are beautiful nuggets of the truth and wisdom of life.

Another beautiful aspect of this collection of poems is that it also showcases Dr Sonia’s artistic excellence in paintings and sketches suited to different moods and temperaments.

Hope Dr Sonia Gupta’s poetry proves a panacea for the suffering humanity, for the dejected lot and for the failed breeds of the people.

Let the beauty, the truth, hope, inspirations and other positive things flow through the fountain of life!

Sono numerosi i suoi collezionisti in California, Florida e a New York.

I DECIDE TO PUT MY WORRIES TO REST! - NANDINI MITRA

I DECIDE TO PUT MY WORRIES TO REST!

These candy floss clouds look so pretty
They are flying with me,
We are on a journey of our own
Carrying along memories ahead, you see !

Sun plays hide and seek with my mood
Villainous dark clouds are a hindrance
They come in the way,
Nothing deters me,
I know life can trigger bigger turbulence, you see!
Blue sky above is crystal clear
Cures my anxiety and stress,
Though mind conspires,
Faith caresses my soul
I decide to put my worries to rest, you see!
NANDINI MITRA (c)14.09.16

ROSELLA LUBRANO " NEL TUO CIELO "

ROSELLA LUBRANO
" NEL TUO CIELO "

E tu mi scruti
tra le braccia
del nostro bosco,
io, linfa
del tuo albero
nel respiro del vento,
quando le sue parole
sono echi sommessi
delle nostre anime
dei tuoi ti amo
appesi a corolle di stelle
dei tuoi ti voglio
tra celate lenzuola di nuvole.
Senti ?
La pioggia nasconde
i nostri sospiri
al lume di candela,
lontano ruggisce il mare
increspato di neve
nella tempesta perfetta.
E mi perdo
nelle fessure dei tuoi occhi,
sulla tua pelle
profumata di luna
ai tramonti
alle albe da vivere insieme,
a quell' infinito
che sorride solo di te.

Se dovessi perdermi - Marinella Froio

Se dovessi perdermi
Semmai dovessi
perdermi,
semmai non dovessi più
ritrovare la strada...
Tu illumina
la mia via
con la luce
del tuo cuore...
Tieni stretta la mia mano...
Cammina al mio fianco
e sostieni il mio passo.
Mi hai cercata
nel silenzio
spezzato dal pianto...
La tua calda voce
mi ha avvolta
tra note di vita.
Il tuo sorriso
ha incendiato
la mia anima
e ora sono viva
in te.
Con te ritrovo
la voglia
di ricominciare...

A good man - Ed Mckinney

A good man.

We can cook
We can claw from Graves to heaven's mite.
We can, build from scraps.
We can, an we have so what's the blue collar of your desires.

We have been pleasing to other's
but, not to our own cause we
Don't have wealth, material fame
nor a name behind bar's. See, some
of else are stars from the after birth
dusk to dusk dawn left spring bang.
We will do the job
We can learn anything
We can, protect our home
WE overcome all odds, an road kills
We are leaders,
We are good men, so why don't you
help us an watch our backs like our
ancestors did our father's an mother's?
Black oil, diamond crest.
We had to, then again we loved you
more than life itself. Love is gone,
A good man, wants a good woman
no matter the soil she comes from.
We all come one source, that's the
sheep who laid his life an resurrected
from hell to glory. We are good man.
A good man...
Will survive within an without.
Will love a soul, who loves him
an nurtures him regardless of
the soul not being orginal black
oil. We all come out up from,
the mother land. We birth all
nations under God's an heaven's
will. So why not, be a good man too
a good woman regardless of the soul
Of soil she hails from?.
A good man...
Want be alone.
Will find his math mate, check the statistics.
Will not be, a slave the rhythm of lies.
Will not be, left to be console without his
Queen court, regardless of color of the soul.
Love has no physical body, soil is soil, cause
We all shall return back where we came up from.
Want tolerate insubordination any longer
from his Queen of black oil.
We want to be loved, just a like a good woman
wants protection.
A good man.

LOVING CONNECTION - Jaleshwer Jeanwall

LOVING CONNECTION

Walking with her side by side,
I couldn't at all my passion hide.
Hearts brimming with love so wild,
Eyes sparkling like an innocent child.

With the heat of passion, moved by each other,
Holding hand in hand with full compassion.
Was it some dream or a mirage?
Both were smiling without a cause.
Glowing faces and moving feet,
Both could listen each other’s heart beats.
Suddenly looking in each other’s eyes,
Fumbled for my hand and held it tight.
Beats increased the passion burning inside,
Was difficult to appease with touches so mild.
The ecstasy that followed, chilled our spines,
Forgot everything in love too sublime.
Was it just a passion or loving connection warm,
That made me surrender willingly in her arms.
I cherish in my heart her enchanting charm.
May she never suffer any harm !

Galaktika Poetike "ATUNIS" - Dr. Jernail S. ANAND

English Author and Critic

Dr J.S. Anand is internationally acclaimed scholar, poet, educationist, environmentalist, philosopher and spiritualist. He is Ambassador to World Union of Poets, Italy, and Secretary General of the World Parliament of Literature. He was recently decorated with Cross for Peace and Cross for Literature also. He was also honoured  with Dr. Mohinder Singh Randhawa Award for Promotion of Art and Culture of Punjab in 2013.  Born in 1955 at Alamgir [Distt. Ludhiana, Punjab, India], he hails from Longowal [Distt. Sangrur, Punjab]. He graduated from Govt. College, Ludhiana, and earned his Masters in English Literature from Punjabi University, Patiala. Thereafter, he was conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2000 for his work on Mysticism in the poetry of Walt Whitman and Prof. Puran Singh. Dr Anand has taught English for 35 years and retired recently from the position of Principal after putting in more than ten years service in this challenging position at DAV College, Bathinda. Dr Anand has authored more than  35 books of poetry, fiction, non-fiction and spirituality. He has also compiled two international anthologies of English poetry as Chief Editor of Creative Impulse: International Journal of English Poetry and Research. He has introduced several Indian poets to the literary world. He is also co-founder and co-Chairperson of World Foundation for Peace and National Vice-President of International Human Rights Observatory (2013-15).  He has also been a Member of the Senate and Syndicate of Punjabi University, Patiala, and Member, Board of Studies, of Guru Kashi University, Bathinda.
Dr Anand’s work became visible to the world when an Iranian scholar, Dr. Roghayeh Farsi from Neyshabur University, Iran,  picked up his seminal article Creative Consciousness [his theory of Biotext]and published two articles dilating on his theory of Biotext bringing into discussion such international figures as Homi Bhabha, Bakhtin and Deleuze. This theory  has challenged the already held positions in the interpretation of the literary text. His book Creative Consciousness contains his articles on poetic creation and creative art which are original in conception and make a lasting contribution to critical theory. It is worth note that Dr. Anand’s work ‘Bliss: the Ultimate Magic’ has been translated into Persian, by Prof. Nargues Mohammadi, an Iranian scholar and published under the title: In Search of Lost Peace and another work, ‘I Belong to You’ is also ready to get into print in Tehran. His literary biographer Dr. Roghayeh Farsi in an article has compared ‘Bliss’ to Khalil Gibran’s  ‘The Prophet’. Dr. Farsi and her colleagues are now working on his recent poetic work ‘Voices from Eternity—The Ganges and the Nile in Converse’ in which he shares the turf with Egyptian poet and philosopher, George Onsy. Dr Anand is now working with Dr. Maria Miraglia on a joint publication of English and Italian poetry entitled ‘Whispers from the Blue’ and bringing out an International Anthology of Indo-Nigerian Poetry as well. Dr. Anand is also Chairman of the International Citizens Council and is writing a book on Political Culture.  A book on J.S. Anand’s Theory of Biotext and Critical Perspectives on his Poetic and Spiritual Creed by Dr. Roghayeh Farsi has been recently published.  He was President of the Jury to award the WORLD UNION OF POET’S PRIZE 2016 in April, 2016.
Dr. Anand’s poetry has great fan following and friend run into rapture while describing him. Here is a poem by Ade Caparas Manilah, his contemporary from Australia, who has said everthing about him in this brief poetic note:

POETIC CREED OF DR J.S. ANAND
Most of the immortal poets have talked about the originals of their poetic creations. I am also tempted to make a few observations in this connection, although I like my mortality.
I believe that poetry is an inspired creation, and its subjects are sublime. It deals with life, death, joy, pain, and a thousand emotions falling in between. Such poetry is just like downloading if from above, some unknown source. We can call it the kit of imagination, where the best words are used to express the emotions created in the attendance of the fire of imagination. All the words, patterns, images oblige you, as they are waiting by, and at the slightest request, appear in patterns to give expression to the idea which is being churned in the mind of the poet. Here, it is the idea which is in direct link with the creative complexes and both provide a new shape to myriad experiences and part experiences, which are in attendance at that moment of time. What is created at a particular moment does not wait for the other moment, because, to wait is to lose, the eternal flow from above, straight from the Muse. This has been my experience with poetic creation. It may be very close to what William Wordsworth said: “spontaneous overflow of powerful feeling”. But he did not mention that its origin is in the divine mansions of the mind, where the Muse holds its court. There are so many people who cannot hold their emotions and blurt it out. It may or may not be poetry.
I also feel that human consciousness is in a flow, scene gets connected to the scene, word gets attached to the word, feelings in a relay race, hold on to feeling after feeling. It is a fluid procession. Our perceptions are also poetic. Because, they are embedded in emotions. We are emotional beings. Even if we do not write poetry. But when we turn eloquent, and even when we hurl abuse, it is poetry. Poetry is man’s first language, and most preferred. Prose is a distorted and troubled version of poetry, a hardboiled, rendering of feelings, mixed [if not polluted] with ideas. Movement is poetry. Staying is stagnating. Prose is close to staying. Poetry adds wheels to the discourse. Prose is dry. Discourse in prose brings is an intellectual activity, born of mind, and argument; whereas poetry is conceived in inbuilt logic; anyone can write prose; but not everyone can attempt poetry; because, in poetry, ill said things kill said things;
our ordinary lines have the power to turn into poetic expressions. Only they are to be charged with a context. Our ordinary actions have the power to turn into poetic events; only they have to be charged with a context, a vision.
we can extend the idea to image: from abstract to the base
In our daily discourse, there are some moments which are poetic and sometimes, what we speak is so charged with inner impulsive push that it achieves the fast movement of a poetic expression. Our ordinary lines too have the power to turn into poetic expressions, only they are to be charged with a context. In the same way, our ordinary actions have the power to turn into poetic events; only they have to be charged with a vision.

Poetry is born out of a grain of truth. Most of it is fiction. The real and the unreal are in a strange mix. What the poet says is a momentous oracular truth. The poem has its own irrevocable logic. It grows like a seed into a tree. No body can fix its form. I don’t think poetry can be written by giving a title. It is abnormal and reverse growth. Poetry is written and after writing a poem, looking at what it says, a suitable title can be assigned. The reason being that the writer does not know what the poem is going to be, and what it is going to say; because the words come from the unknown and get settled on the lines. No poet has a dictionary of words ready with him. No pre arranged set of thoughts can be made to supply these words and these ideas. Poetry is a set of images selected automatically at the time of creation, and it is the poet’s vision, blended with his imagination, which architects the poem.
Binding the poetry in meter, I know masters have done it, is playing with the internal upsurge of the poetic feeling. Catching it in one’s hand, and then, rearranging it to suit a particular meter, brings the poetic emotion and creative moment to a secondary station; form being more important than the poetry itself. Is body more important than the soul? Who works in a body? I think it is the mind. The soul. These are more important. Putting every care on the body and giving it primary important is playing with the charm and joy of the poetic creation.
Real poetry belongs to the ideas of life and death, pain and joy, angst and ecstasy. In between, there are a thousand emotions which find expression in poetry. Poetry which is written for occasions and on demand, is poetic prose only, charged with artificial emotion. An ordered manufacture. For that reason, I also find poetry which is made to rhyme by altering the word order, is also hardly a poetic act. We are tampering with the poetic emotion.
Poet is a prophet at whose command lie the divine order, in whose possession are the instruments of gods. The poet reads the text of society, feels its angst, and then, transforms the pain into a work of art, which ultimately gives joy, when read reread and read again and again down the ages. Poetry that lives beyond words, and beyond time, is the poetry which springs from human soul, which approaches the soul at the other end. In between, we have nothing but a river of mortality, poetic prose, passing for poetry.

Still there came the boat moorings.
Still there came the boat moorings.
The paintings hanging on the walls reminded me now no longer extant night landscapes.
It's so far away.
The Sun is slow in coming.
The Sun is slow in coming.
The Sun is slow in coming.
Still there came the boat moorings.
